week 5 game plan

This last week was a rough one but I have worked on creating assessments that would be valuable and have turned them in for my instructional coach to look at. Other than that I am still creating the blogs and webpages that I will use to communicate with my students and parents. One thing I am going to do is Text the students and parents messages once a week. I will remind parents of homeworks and project or just give updates on what is going on in the classroom. Right now I am seeing if there are any legal issues for this and getting permission slips to parents to sign. The slips explain why I am texting their children and that the parents are getting the exact same text as their children.

Week 3 Game Plan

My Game Plan for standard 1 is:

Looking at my game plan for the first one I am really going to need the help of our technology coaches and our instructional coaches. I will also need access to blogs of other teachers and groups to see if I can get new ideas. For the assessment I will again utilize the idea of my teachers and what I can find through research. I also will continue with my membership to professional organizations to further my developement as a teacher.

In the second Game Plan I will need a website which I am creating. I will need space on the schools network for the site and I will also have to find out about how to allow parents and students to access the site. I will also try and set up a weekly news letter for parents. I also am working on a wiki for the classroom so the student can communicate wth me.

Monitoring game plans

I have been confrencing with our technology coaches to find get more about differnt ways to use the smartboads and how to incorporate them into the lesson plan. The versatility of the boards is amazing. One of the coaches uses Skype to confrence with other classroom throughout the world. I am looking forward to learning more about this technology. I think my students would benefit greatly from this kind of interaction. My students really do not realize that there is a big world outside of South East Ga.

Game plan

Sorry I am late posting this. I couldn't get on the site on thursday and then had to go out of town for the weekend without access to the internet. Now I can't paste my word doc to the blog. Frustrating week.

This week’s assignment is to create a GAME plan. A Game Plan is used to guide self directed learning. This week I have to choose two of the NETS-T - standards and create a game plan for those standards. The two standards that I have chosen to create game plans for are standards 2 and 3. Standard 2 is Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to
Maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS•S. Teachers:
a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
b. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become
active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
c. customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using
digital tools and resources
d. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology
Standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching

Standard 3 is Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:
a. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations
b. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success
and innovation
c. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats
d. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information
Resources to support research and learning

My Game Plan for standard 1 is:

G(oal):
1) Create affective lesson plans that contains the use of technology to enhance and motivate my students
2) Create assessments that will utilize technology to meet the varied learning styles of students

Actions:
1) Continue with ongoing education in the use of modern technology in the classroom
2) Use the automated response systems to create instant assessments for the students so they may get instant feedback and I will be able to adjust lessons accordingly
3) Collaborate with other teachers to get new ideas in the use of technology.
Monitor:
1) Create an electronic log that logs the use of technology in my lesson plans
2) Create a questionnaire for students to have them provide input on the effectiveness of the lessons
3) Allow students and other teachers to post on a wiki created for my classroom
Evaluate:
1) Read the posts on wiki and the questionnaires that the students provide to see if the ideas used are being helpful to the student
2) Look at final assessments to see if the student performance has increased.

Standard 3:
Goal:
1) To allow constant communication between students, parents and other teachers
2) Show students that the use of technology can be fun and rewarding in the classroom
Action:
1) Create a classroom blog and wiki to allow for student, teachers and parents to communicate with me at all times.
2) Use technology in many forms during lessons to show that technology can be fun to use!

Monitor:
1) Create a log of responses to the Wiki, The log will contain who is posting to the wiki and if the comments are positive or negative
2) Create a Poll that is placed on webpage where students can grade lessons and how well the lessons go.

Evaluate:
1) Create a place on the classroom webpage where students can post their work and show off their talents
2) Conference with students individually and discuss the lesson and the use of technology. Did the students find it useful and was it enjoyable and did they learn anything about using the technology
